ESPN Lays the Smackdown on the NY Post Over Running Erin Andrews Images From Invasion Video
By now, most of you have been sent viral videos of Erin Andrews undressing in her hotel room via being snooped on by a peeping tom. Of course, the NY Post being the NY Post decided to publish images from the now infamous video leaving a very bad taste in ESPNs mouth. Buh bye Post! Looks like your reporters are banned.
"While we understand the Post's decision to cover this as a news story, their running photos obtained in such a fashion went well beyond the boundaries of common decency in the interest of sensationalism," ESPN senior vice president of communications Chris LaPlaca said in a statement Wednesday night. We knew the Post could go low, but we're inclined to side with ESPN on the matter. These images are illegal and an invasion to Andrews privacy and no matter how juicy, they should have been kept out period.
